Aikido klub Maestral Split - HAS 2011

Croatian Aikido Federation seminar in Split, November 29th 2011.

Croatian Aikido Federation - HAS

Croatian Aikido Federation was founded on February 15th in the year 2000 in Split, Croatia. The city of Split is also home to the Aikido club with the longest tradition in Croatia - Aikido club "Bonaca". Federation chairman is Tonči Tadić, an active congressman as well as Aikido master.
HAS is the only legitimate Aikido organization in Croatia, recognized by Aikikai Hombu in 2012.

Aikido club "Bonaca"

Aikido club "Bonaca" is founded by a group of students in April of 1993, as fruition of studying with Marino Božan Sensei 1.DAN in Aikido club "Jadran" from 1989. With the teacher's departure for Zagreb in 1990, during the wartime club "Jadran" is maintained by students Robert Malić and Robert Verle.

With the founding of "Bonaca", the club turns to the Aikikai organization and invites Shihan Masatake Fujita 8.DAN in early 1995. This is followed by many seminars in Split and trips to international seminars with leading Aikikai Shihans.
In the period between 1998-2001 the club welcomes two new masters and promotes Aikido in the neighboring Republic of Slovenia, all under the patronage of Shihan Fumio Toyoda 6.DAN from Chicago.

In 1998. the club receives the name Eidokan dojo, as part of AAI organization.

After the passing of Toyoda Shihan, AAA and AAI organizations are led by his successors who continue to hold seminars and promote new instructors. A huge contribution to the club's development belongs to Željko Jeričević 4.DAN and many others who were with the club from the very beginnings.

Fudoshinkan dojo

Founded on October 1st, 2012 in Split as part of Aikido club "Bonaca". Founder and chief instructor of Fudoshinkan dojo is Ivan Gavrilović 2.DAN, a member of Eidokan dojo since January 2001.

Since 9.11.2012. Fudoshinkan dojo functions as an independent sport club, under the name Aikido klub "Maestral".

Guided by the thought that it is wrong to follow in the footsteps of the old masters, and it is instead neccessary to seek what they sought, Aikido club Maestral - Fudoshinkan dojo hosts a seminar in the June of 2014 with Akuzawa Minoru Sensei of Tokyo and thus becomes the first club in Croatia to have direct contact with his organization, Aunkai. An Aunkai Bujutsu internal method study group is formed.
