About the Author

(and the blog)

Writing about oneself is a strangely therapeutic endeavour. With the passage of time one's own words seem increasingly distant. It's not until actually reading your own words that you notice the inherent idiosyncrasies. We all have them. I'm unique - just like everybody else, I realize upon reading my own words.

There's my CV info, but who is interested in that? Listing where I've been and what I've done and who I've met feels like hard labor. Perhaps if and when I get to writing my memoirs, ha.
The headline does promise you something, so here are some relevant bits.

In my journeys so far I've been touched by many Yoga practitioners and precious few actual yogis, from several schools. I've had eyes and hands on and have been hit, thrown and pinned by many mediocre martial artists, and a couple really, really good ones. External and internal.
A shared quality the good ones have is something I would best describe as modesty, although not for its own sake as a virtue but a rather natural thing.

I read. I watch. I discuss. I dwell on my experiences and repeat the process.
Since the advent of the internet, I lurk on many, many places where knowledge pools. On precious few, I contribute.

I've never written a diary, or a blog of any kind. I enjoy the written word but have never felt anything I had to say was worth anyone's time, certainly not worth time better spent practicing. Actually embodying the principles people get so much kicks out of talking about.
Times change. So much great knowledge is out. So much utter bullshit is out, also. People like to peruse their screens in their downtime, or even better, at their jobs. I feel an urge to share what little I have of value, with my fellow procrastinators.

So, for those that somehow make it to my written words and possess the interest, the attention span and the capacity to grok them - welcome!

This is for you. In part. In good part it is for me. I need a vent and have decided to try this out as one. There will be topics from the site title acronym, but also loosely connected topics as well. I stray into byways.
I also like animals. Outdoors. There may be all sorts of random stuff.

Hope you feel some reward in reading from me.
